Pumpkin Spice Protein Shake Recipe

In Park City, the nights are growing colder (we’ve even seen some snowflakes) and the trees are showing off their vibrant shades of crimson and brilliant orange. Fall looks as though it has been painted on the mountainside.

The crisp breezes and flavors of fall mean…. ’tis the season for pumpkin spice & everything nice! Pumpkin does more than just get you in the autumn spirit..it’s loaded with fiber, vitamin A (which boosts your immunity), vitamin C, and potassium.

This healthy pumpkin spice protein shake recipe tastes like pumpkin pie for breakfast. And, it includes a secret ingredient I bet you’ve NEVER used in a shake before.

If you have some extra time on your hands, put the pumpkin puree in ice cube trays (don’t add any water) and freeze the pumpkin overnight. Then, when you’re ready to whip up your shake, add the pumpkin “ice” cubes to create a thick, milkshake-like consistency.

Mixing pumpkin puree to your shakes is an incredible way to add creamy moisture, flavor and nutrients while still being friendly to your waistline….. 1/4 C of pumpkin includes only 25 calories!

Feel free to play with the seasonings in this shake. Sprinkle in cinnamon, nutmeg, and even ginger for a seasonal twist.
