Pomegranate Lemon

Just tasting a pomegranate is enough to make the words “bright” and “bold” to pop in your head. Tart and sweet, the pomegranate is an antioxidant champion, offering more nutritional benefits than blueberries, raspberries, or cherries.

Today’s recipe combines a double berry blast of pomegranate and blueberries along with detoxifying lemon with collagen to create a drink that rejuvenates you from the inside out. It’s a quick and easy way to start your day with amplified energy.

Why collagen?

The most abundant protein in the body, collagen supports skin, bones, muscles, and tendons. In your 20s collagen levels start to decline and you both see and feel the results… skin is less elastic, the mirror reveals new wrinkles, hair and nails need more help to look their best. Eating a healthy diet, getting plenty of exercise and enjoying collagen-rich foods (such as cashews, berries, citrus fruits) are a few ways to help maintain your collagen levels. Adding an ingestible collagen to your routine is an extra boost to keep your body well-oiled.

Collagen supplements have been shown to increase production of endogenous collagen, which your body synthesizes naturally. A daily collagen supplement helps you enhance your glow, improves skin tone, and makes hair and nails more vibrant… and when the collagen is part of a treat like today’s pomegranate concoction, your taste buds are happy, too!

Refreshing Pomegranate Collagen Drink

Note: seeding a pomegranate is easier than you think. Just cut the pomegranate in half across the fruit’s equator, hold each half over a bowl and hit firmly with a wooden spoon. The seeds will tumble out. And, yes, the seeds are edible!
