When you wake up on a chilly day, and you want to stay under your cozy covers all morning, the last thing that sounds comforting is an icy protein shake for breakfast.
On days where the temperature starts to drop, I like to opt for a warming smoothie. Seriously! Here are 4 protein shakes that will comfort you from the inside out. Get ready to change your cold-weather breakfasts forever!
1 C Warm water
2 Tbsp to 1/2 Cup (depending on your preference) cahew milk
1/2 scoop vanilla protein powder
1/2 scoop collagen
1/2 tsp matcha
Mix all ingredients (except the cashew milk) together. Once combined, stir in cashew milk.
WARM MOCHACCINO SHAKE
½ cup brewed coffee
1 serving chocolate Kathy Smith Protein Shake
2 Tbsp to 1/2 Cup (depending on your preference) unsweetened almond milk
1 tablespoon raw cacao
1 tablespoon coconut milk
Blend together all ingredients and enjoy!
WARM VANILLA CHAI
4 oz of unsweetened almond milk, warm
4 oz of black tea, warm
1 serving vanilla protein powder
½ tsp powdered ginger
½ tsp cinnamon
dash of: pepper, cardamom, ground cloves, and nutmeg
¼ tsp pure vanilla extract
1 tablespoon freshly-ground flax seeds
Place all ingredients in blender and mix together.
PROTEIN HOT CHOCOLATE
1 C. Water
2 Tbsp. chocolate protein powder
1 tsp. unsweetened cocoa poweder
1 Tbsp coconut oil
Heat water until boiling. Mix in protein powder and cocoa. Pour in mug and garnish with milk froth and dark chocolate shavings.
