A recent study found that prolonged exposure to sweet, blessed silence benefits the brain. Researchers discovered that two hours of silence per day prompted cell development in the hippocampus, the brain region related to the formation of memory involving the senses.
Although we’re all tight on time and may not have 2 hours each day to spend in silence, there are ways you can re-wire your brain in a hurry. The number one way I train my brain is through daily guided visualizations for deep relaxation, brain balance, inner calm, and motivation.
Every morning, I have a routine. I call it “mastering my morning.” I steep a cup of hot lemon ginger tea and sit down on a pillow in front of an open window that overlooks the mountains in Park City. Then I start concentrating on my breathing.
It’s magical how it shifts my outlook on life.
