7-Min Lunge Routine


Lunges are a terrific way to develop a firm foundation of strength in the lower body strength.

The trick is to tone the area from every angle.

That’s why I love my “Matrix System.” In this functional, full-body method, you imagine yourself standing in the center of a clock.

Anytime you move directly forward, for example, you’re going to 12:00.

Directly back, and you’re at 6:00.

When you move forward but slightly to the right, that’s 2:00.

Take a traditional lunge and put it into the Matrix so you’re lunging not just at 12:00 and 6:00, but also at 3:00, 9:00, 2:00, etc. This allows you to tone the glutes and thighs as well as the quadriceps and inner and outer thighs from every possible angle.
