STRONG GLUTES


I was just in Boulder visiting my daughter Kate, her husband, and my grandson River… he just turned 2️⃣!  River aka “Mr. Man” is a shining light, and when I’m with him, I find myself crawling, squatting, and moving more than normal.

But, if you find yourself stuck in a chair for long periods of time responding to emails, scrolling through social media, or binge-watching Netflix, it can eventually lead to “glute amnesia!”

When you spend too much time sitting throughout the day, your gluteus medius has a trickier timing initiating contractions during a workout. The gluteus medius is responsible for stabilizing the hip joint, and it aids in pelvic rotation. When you sit for too long, it can create a decrease of range of motion in the hips as well as a weakness in that area.

If you’re wondering “where did my butt go?”… today’s routine can bring it back to life. This 20-min butt-activating routine is an easy-to-follow routine for waking up your backside. It challenges all the muscles in your glutes, while also engaging your hamstrings and your core. When you have toned legs and abs, it enhances the shape of your backside.

Throughout this video, avoid using momentum. You want focus on using your buns to get through every sculpting motion. This takes practice!
