Dr. John Day’s Longevity Soup Recipe


1 C raw shelled hemp seeds
1 C pumpkin greens (narrow stalks about as thick as a pencil)
3 C water
1/2 tsp salt
Spinach (optional)
Tuscan kale (optional)


To prepare the greens, first rinse and dry. Remove all the stalks larger than the diameter of a pencil. Clip off the leaves and peel any thick fibers from the smaller stalks. Add in spinach or kale (optional).

To prepare the broth, put the raw shelled hemp seeds and water in a blender and blend until smooth. Transfer the broth to a pot. Add the greens and bring to a boil for about 1-2 minutes until the greens are softened. Remove from heat and salt lightly to taste.
